Jamie Waller

Jamie is a highly experienced solicitor with more than 25 years’ expertise in civil litigation, with a particular focus on Landlord & Tenant Law and Employment Law. Having spent decades advising freeholders, managing agents and employers, he understands the commercial, operational and regulatory pressures faced by those responsible for managing people and property.

Jamie joined Thirsk Winton in 2025 as a Senior Associate Solicitor. He advises clients—predominantly freeholders—on a wide range of residential leasehold disputes, including service charge, ground rent and insurance recoveries, as well as forfeiture matters. He also has extensive experience in employment law and representation at tribunal level.

He works closely with managing agents, employers and business owners, guiding them through both contentious and advisory matters with clear, pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice. Known for his strong negotiation skills and meticulous attention to detail, Jamie is adept at managing complex or high-volume caseloads efficiently. His approach is solutions-driven, ensuring that processes are streamlined and disputes are resolved in a way that supports his clients’ wider commercial objectives.

Before joining Thirsk Winton, Jamie spent over 15 years in senior roles within private practice, progressing to partnership level. During this time, he led litigation and employment law work across a broad client base, managed internal HR functions and played an active role in business development. Known for his strong negotiation skills and meticulous attention to detail Jamie is focused on achieving effective, practical outcomes for every client he represents.
