Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who rely on assistive technology.
Our commitment
This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means you should be able to:
- navigate the whole site using a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a “skip to content” link;
- zoom to 200% or use a large text setting without content overlapping or being cut off;
- read all text at a colour contrast of at least 4.5:1;
- use a screen reader, with meaningful headings, landmarks, link text and image descriptions;
- use the site on a phone or tablet, in portrait or landscape.
We avoid content that flashes, we do not autoplay video with sound, and animation is reduced when your device asks for it.
Known limitations
- The SRA digital badge in the footer is supplied by the Solicitors Regulation Authority as an embedded frame and we cannot change how it is built.
- A small number of older photographs are low resolution and may appear soft on high-density screens.
- Some articles include images that are decorative only and are hidden from screen readers.
